Hidden behind Orchard Road in a quiet bucolic setting with public transportation right outside the door the Metro Y compares very favorably to many of Singapore's more well known and expensive star rated hotel properties.
In a nutshell, the Metropolitan YMCA is excellent value for money. Forget all you think you know about the "Y" being bare bones accommodation for backpackers. The Metro Y provides clean, comfortable and very tastefully furnished rooms complete with all the conveniences most travelers need but without some of the frills that add to the cost. And if you are planning an extended stay in Singapore there are 1 & 2 bedroom apartments available.
